21-year old Paris Saint German and France forward player, Kylian Mbappe Lottin considered as one of the best players in the world, has been quarantined after his test result shows he is positive to Covid-19 while with France national team.
The young player, who shows no symptoms of the virus, has left France nation squad and will miss out for Les Bleus in their upcoming Nations League fixture on Tuesday evening at 8:45 p.m. with Croatia in Paris, France capital. He will be missing the clash, between France and Croatia, which he was initially placed, to form a forward trident along with Wissam Ben Yedder and Anthony Martial
The result of his Covid-19 test, carried out by UEFA on Monday morning, was found to be positive, he was placed away from the group after receiving the results, at the end of training before regaining his home in the evening.
Like the entire delegation, Kylian Mbappe has undergone a test, prior to meeting. The result was negative, like the one last Wednesday at the request of UEFA.
Mbappe’s absence will be another major setback to popular French champions PSG’s preparations for the new season. On Thursday, the club confirmed that three more players had tested positive, following an initial trio that included Neymar 24 hours prior.
The French domestic season is already underway, but PSG are yet to play because of their run to the Champions League Final. Their opening fixture, a trip to newly promoted Lens, takes place on Thursday, September 10 before a home game against Marseille, three days later.
The forward played an instrumental role, in helping France win the 2018 FIFA World Cup and was named “Best Young Player” of the tournament. He led the club in scoring in the 2019-2020 Ligue 1 season, and helped them reach the UEFA Champions League final in Portugal last month, where PSG lost to Bayern Munich 1-0. All those who test positive, must be isolated for the mandatory 14 days. The season has already started, for every other side in the top flight but PSG were afforded an extra break, after losing to Bayern Munich on the 23rd of August.
Leonardo might well rage on, but it is Tuchel, PSG’s Coach who is under pressure to cope. Neymar, his world record £198 million forward and other marquee player, is also out with Covid-19.
