Nigerian music producer, Opara Micheal popularly known as “Tuzi Beatz” bears it all in this exclusive interview with us. He talks about his career, future plans and celebrity he has worked with.

What are your real names? – “I am Opara micheal”

What is your brand name/nickname? – “Known in the music industry as Tuzi”

Nationality? – Nigerian

State of Origin/Town? – From IMO state

Where are you based? – Based in Lagos

Date of Birth (day/month)? – “I was born February 28th in the 90’s”

Status? – “When u say status
What do u mean please?”

I mean Are you Single or in a Relationship? – “I’m single”

Hobbies/likes? – “I love making music obviously
Watching movies too”

Turnoffs/Dislikes? – “I hate infidels”

Professional/Career? – “I am a record/music producer”

What’s your best food? – “Wow my best food ?
Do I have one?
Okay I love beans and plantain haha”

What’s your best color? – “I like the colour black
It goes with anything”

What inspires you? – “I draw inspiration from anything most especially good music… I don’t depend on weed or drugs
U know that seems to be the trend for creatives right now”

What moment defined you? – “The moment I realized
I have a huge record to my name.
It seemed like dream cos it looked almost impossible.”

How did you startup in your line of profession? – “I have always had the love for music ever since I was little.
From primary school always hitting my class tables to being the choir devotion prefect in primary.
Down to secondary school.
When I was part of the school choir.
Then I joined the church choir.”

“Thank God for a lovely father who supported me all through and gave me the chance to do what I loved.”

“One of the things I am grateful to God for is the fact that I discovered my self and what I wanted to do at a very young age.”

Who or what made you go into music production? – “I can’t say or tell
Buh as a child I was always curious to know those behind the instrumentals.
I actually used to think it was a band.
Till I asked one of my uncle what they call people who are behind the drums and tones in a song, then he told me they called music producers.”

“He told me Don Jazzy was one.”

We know you to be an amazing Producer. What are your music genre so far? – “One major genre the Tuzi brand represents is AFRO BEATS.”

“When u hear Tuzi beats you hear hear Afro beats…. Not just any Afro beats the real Afro beats with the complete traditional elements.”

How do you handle down moments since you started your career? – “Mehn there have been lots of down moments haha the industry has its ups and downs buh for someone who is focused on the price the negativity should wey such person down.”

“Music is always an escape for me.
I have nothing else on this earth to prove my self.
So whenever I get down I always go to my studio and try to create.”

“I get good results most times when I am angry.”

As a young, handsome and talented man, how do you handle pressures from male colleagues, ladies, your fans and your clients? – “Hahah pressure from male colleagues ??
Nah nothing like that everyone knows behind that angry face always seen on IG is an easy going and very friendly man.”

“Lol
I don’t get pressure from females oo
My Dm is filled with up coming producers who want to learn a few things. I and my management would be setting up something for them real soon.”

“I have very real clients who really believe in me and have always been satisfied with my work.”

How many celebrities have you worked with so far? Can you list some of them? – “I have worked with a few… From Skibii to Reekadobanks, Solid star, Terry Apala, Iyanya, Yung L, Sean Tizzle, Dbanj, Teni, Dj spinall etc.”

Any current/future projects? – “I am working on my producer Ep featuring some of ur favorite acts.
Trust me when it’s out the industry would really understand what the tuzi

What’s your advice for the upcoming ones in your field of profession? – “Stay focused
Keep working and pray”

Your last words to family/fiends/fans? – “Thanks for believing in me I promised not to let you guys down.”
